Students undergo 6 years of Primary level education in Singapore. At the end of Primary Six, pupils sit for the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE). Their PSLE results will be used to determine whether they will be admitted to the Special, Express or Normal stream in secondary schools.

Subjects include: English Language, Mother Tongue, Mathematics, Science, Music, Arts & Crafts, Civics and Moral Education, Health Education, Social Studies and Physical Education.

SECONDARY EDUCATION

Students undergo 4 or 5 years of Secondary education, which is designed to suit their learning ablilities. The Express and Special stream students study 4 years of Secondary education and the Normal stream students study 5 years of Secondary education.

Students sit for the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education 'Ordinary' - GCE 'O' level examination at the end of their Secondary education. These examinations are administered by the University of Cambridge in London and are recognised worldwide.

Subjects include: English Language, Mother Tongue, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Literature in English, Visual Arts, Design and Technology, Home Economics, Computer Applications, Civics and Moral Education, Physical Educational and Music.

Students who have completed their GCE 'O' Level Examinations proceed to apply for placement to:

• Junior Colleges for the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education 'Advanced' Level Examinations (GCE 'A' Level Examinations)
• Polytechnics for Diploma programmes
• Private Schools for Degree programmes
